They are pretty different. In general, RRS is going to be more stable than anything else at a given weight and the 24L is a pound heavier than the HK so it’s definitely going to be more stable. The RRS ascend (14L) model is probably closer to the tricer HK in stability/weight.
That said, the HK is lighter and quicker to deploy and adjust than the 24L because it has inverted sections and fewer of them. I’ve been saying for a while that RRS really needs to make a 13i model that specs out similarly to the HK but has RRS build quality. They are missing the boat by not having such an offering.
I had a RRS TFCT-24L for years as my do everything shooting tripod. Primary hunting tripod right now is a leofoto 282-CMX that is just a 2 section inverted tripod. Its a lot lighter/quicker than the 24L but not as stable and doesn't go to standing height. I have a taller/heavier tripod for range/match shooting and standup glassing near a vehicle.
