Tricer Hk vs RRS tfc 24L

I am just getting into long range hunting from the archery world. I want a good tripod for shooting off of and have been stuck looking between both the Tricer hk and the Rrs tfc 24L . Does anybody have any experience with both to help me out on the direction I should go with tripods.

I can’t comment on the Tricer (or the RRS 24L for that matter) but I have the 34L and combined with a good ballhead, it’s a very stable shooting platform
from prone to standing. Compared to another tripod in its weight class (Slik 834) it’s pretty noticeable, especially the further you get from the ground and in the wind.

They are pretty different. In general, RRS is going to be more stable than anything else at a given weight and the 24L is a pound heavier than the HK so it’s definitely going to be more stable. The RRS ascend (14L) model is probably closer to the tricer HK in stability/weight.

That said, the HK is lighter and quicker to deploy and adjust than the 24L because it has inverted sections and fewer of them. I’ve been saying for a while that RRS really needs to make a 13i model that specs out similarly to the HK but has RRS build quality. They are missing the boat by not having such an offering.

I had a RRS TFCT-24L for years as my do everything shooting tripod. Primary hunting tripod right now is a leofoto 282-CMX that is just a 2 section inverted tripod. Its a lot lighter/quicker than the 24L but not as stable and doesn't go to standing height. I have a taller/heavier tripod for range/match shooting and standup glassing near a vehicle.

Do you use your 34L for backpack hunting at all? I’m going to be using the tripod for Colorado elk. And we were hiking in about 2 miles and droppin/gaining about 2000ft in elevation

so your leofoto is more like the rrs 22i version than correct. My dad and brother use a bog inverted tripod that works. Buts that thing is heavy and not the most stable.

Yes, it'd be closer to the 22ic (compact version) but .75 lb lighter, less stable, and much less expensive. The SO-282CX would be closer to the 22i in size/height.

I don't do any backpack hunting but if I'm hiking a bunch of vertical, I'll usually opt for a smaller tripod. But then I tend not to bring heavy optics and I don't use it for shooting (at least not from higher positions). For me, it's a pretty noticeable difference for everything but light binoculars and lower positions.
