I have a pair of BD Carbon Corks and a pair of the Costco Cascade Mountain poles. The BD are definitely better in terms of construction, and I prefer the handles on them as well. That being said, they're not $100.00 better and I don't know if I would ever buy another pair as long as the Cascade Mountains ones are selling at such a bargain price. It's an awesome item at an awesome price.

I totally agree with this statement. I also have a pair of BD's (alpine carbon cork), A pair of Locus Gear carbons, and a pair of the Costco carbon Cascades. I do like the Locus Gear's the best, simply because they only weigh about 10 oz., and my son uses the Cascades. The BD'a are pretty much obsolete now in my small arsenal of trekking poles and really, with the price of the Cascades, I don't know how BD can continue to demand the price that they do for them. I do think that the BD poles are very nice, but like you, not an additional $100+ nice.

This would be great news if they were selling them at my local Costco!! I'm in the market for my first set and these sound like they'd be a great option. Maybe they'll show up still. Checked online too and they don't have them listed there either.

I got a set last weekend, I'm considering getting another pair or two for the future in case they stop carrying them. But maybe I'm overreacting.

anybody picking a pair up shoot me a pm ... i don't have a costco within 120 miles.

They are like $39 on amazon , free shipping . Would be about the same price as if someone shipped you some

Yeah, but they're the twist lock ones on Amazon, the ones at our Costco are the flick lock. Big difference IMO. I had Leki twist locks before, they sucked big time, so I took them back to REI. If anyone wants these that our Costco sells and doesn't mind paying for the actual shipping cost, I would be willing to pick them up and ship for the actual cost. I'll be headed back to Costco this weekend. So the price would be 28.99 + shipping, we don't have sales tax. Anyway, just let me know soon and you can PayPal me the $.

I have checked 2 local Costcos here in Wisconsin and even asked employees there about them and they looked at me like I was crazy. Are these seasonal or just in different states? Anyone in SE Wisconsin know of any Costcos that might carry them.

Same here. Looked on Costco .com as well. Want to get a pair for my daughter as we are hiking the Grand Canyon later this year.

AK--I just read more. I'll take you up on that. Might as well get two pair, I imagine the shipping would be close to the same one or two. I'll send you a PM.
