Trekking Pole Recommendations

These look like a good set of "higher end" poles at a reasonable price. Anybody have experience with these?

Komperdell C3 Carbon Pro Trekking Poles (2018) | Price & Reviews | Massdrop

I used them last year. Good quality for sure and well built. I wasn't a fan of the locks, seemed like they were always either too tight or too loose, and required a phillips head to adjust. Also the bottom section was not carbon fiber, seemed like it was aluminum or something like that.

I put this chart together to help make sense of all these suggestions. Thought some of you might find it useful. (Click on it to actually read it)

Rob,

I'd be interested in your poles if they were shorter. I want to use the poles as bipod legs for my modular evolution bipod, in addition to being traditional trekking poles. Any chance you could get their collapsed length down around 22"?

Also, with whatever poles I go with, I will probably need to cut the grips off and epoxy in an attachment for the 1/4-20 stud required to attach it to the bipod adapter. Let me know if you have any thoughts on how this could be done with your poles.

Thanks.

I know this is an ancient thread, but does anyone make trekking poles like this today? I know this particular brand and model has been discontinued. I did some digging in a vain effort to find a dusty old set someplace without success (maybe someone here has a set they’d like to part with - long shot I know).
I like these because they appear to be pretty stout for intense backcountry pack outs while remaining under a pound a piece. They just seem to be more business than flair, which is what I’m after.

I have two sets of LEKIs. One set is the heavier aluminum with EVO grips and the other a lighter weight with cork grips. I cant decide which ones I like better. Since I am 6’1” 325 I have more confidence in the heavier set but I have had any issues with either. I got both setup with the Wiser connector and they make pretty good rifle rests. I looked at Black Diamond but I think I ended up with the Leki because they were on sale.

Thanks @Boarmaster, I appreciate the response. I ended up going with a set of Leki and Black Diamonds. Now I can get a feel for my likes and dislikes, choose one and sell the other. Based on the reviews for the models I chose, it doesn't sound like I'll be disappointed in either set. The decision will likely be based on very subtle nuances. I did go aluminum for both sets. The weight savings of carbon would be nice but for a deep Alaska backcountry trip, I prioritized durability at the expense of a few ounces.
