Travel to Mexico?

Have you seen the president of Mexicos speech? She says she isn't going after the Narco's because it's akin to not giving them a fair trial with the rule of law.

She is so dirty and in the back pocket of the Cartels it's not even funny....not good.

If my flight was March 24th not Feb 24th I would still be going. But, today just seems entirely too close to this past Sunday when airports were closed, flights turning around and tourists in the PV hotels were hearing gunfire and smoke billowing up like Mogadishu.
I could get that in Chicago or Memphis. Don’t need that for a relaxing vacation.

If the President came out and said she was going after them she would be dead inside of 24 hours!

They take out political candidates regularly down there, Presidential ones included though not as common.

I fear this will only embolden the cartels! The cartels have been "straddling" the border for decades now.
After elections, the local cartels visit the winner and ask one question!
"Silver or lead?" Their future lives or dies with their answer.....LITERALLY!
Cartels "purchase" loyalty.
The repercussion is death. Mexican cartels don't just kill disobedience, they wipe out bloodlines! Grandparents, parents, siblings, children, grandchildren...ANY living relatives!
I think you saw that in a movie

Might be less dangerous than some places in the US. But I don't know of any families taking a week long vacation to the south side of Chicago.
While the South side has its fair share of troubles, the West side is what truly should be avoided. Anywhere West of Ashland Ave open air drug markets are like whak a mole near the expressway. Suburban people getting off the highway for drugs then right back out. Gentrification is pushing some areas into cleaning up, government housing is moving to rural towns where land is cheaper.

Dang, I lived near Ashland and Division when I had a summer internship downtown in 1985. It was OK then. Sorry to hear that. Ironically, I lived in an area called The Ukrainian Village.
