How do you carry a rifle in the truck?

The majority of soft cases (at least that I find) don't fit a rifle with a larger (44+mm)scope or bipod... Got me to thinking

How do you carry a rifle for a short trip? Range before or after work, a Saturday with some friends. Not talking about a hunt a couple states away.

Raw dog. I haven't put a gun in an actual gun case in quite some time. Even travelling across states. Just lay it in the backseat.

There are plenty of soft cases that fit rifles with larger scopes. Check creedmoor sports midway and champions choice just to name a few.

Big Sky overhead, shelf-it/rifle-it, headrest hooks, bradford verticle seatback, and the old standby, the dash......

I normally carry my rifle in a case, but if my cases are already full, I put it in the sleeves of a hunting jacket and roll it up. Most of my rifles are blued steel and nice walnut. No point in getting them any more extra dents and dings.

Usually raw dog with a jacket or whatever is in the truck thrown over it. The one pictured had a Zeiss on it, so it had to be babied

I bought a duha under seat storage container for my GMC, some pluckable foam from Amazon and made custom foam to store two rifles under my back seat.

Gun sleeve string tie case -- ease it in - ease it out -- I buy them large enough to even fit my shotguns with 30" barrels.
The sleeves I buy are long and wide to accommodate a 56mm scope. When they aren't being used, they fold up really nice and neat in the gun room. They are also washable.

Back seat or floorboard mags in the driver door pocket and some looseys in the ashtray. Front passenger seat in prime country. No case to slow down access in case I need to get into action right now.

Soft cases for all of my rifles, and hard cases for my competition shotguns. Soft or hard lockable cases for my pistols.
