Since this is Backcountry Stock, I assume you're on Wilderness trails, so a chainsaw is out. Assuming you aren't looking to buck logs over 10-12" diameter, the only answer is Silky in whichever variety suits your needs. For larger cuts, be sure to have 2 wedges with you. The big boy 360 at $75 is the best all around saw considering price/weight/length. The Katana Boy is bad ass but pricey!
I ended up going with the big boy 360. Size and price was the determining factor. The big boy fits in my saddle bag diagonally. I think its a close trade off for the size and price difference. Still like the idea of the Katanna Boy but would have to have a scabbard made for it,
the back country horsemen bought a katana boy for trail clearing and a 48v echo as well as a gas Stihl.
i also have a dewalt 20v and there is at least 2 of the 6 inch electrics. the 6 in will fit in a saddle bag. the little 6 in is really handy.
a couple of us also carry a 21 in corona.
