Any tip on how to orient the solar panel? I have a HME solar power panel directed straight south. The battery level noted by my cam (spypoint) always shows 14% or less.

I'll second or third the format your memory card every time, that has burned me a few times, especially if you have multiple cameras and similar memory cards. Also, lithium batteries are nice, just make sure whatever you're running that you remove them when the camera isn't up to prolong the life...I have used the same batteries for multiple seasons now with thousands of pictures, so they'll last longer than you think if you take care of them. I bring a screen cleaning wipe to wipe off the lens and sensors after it's all set up, the cameras are small, and I inevitably end up touching damn near everything I don’t want to leave prints or tree sap on.
