Hello everyone! Hope you all are well. I recently came across the trail cam company meidase on Amazon. The area I hunt is very local, so I'm trying to avoid cell cams as the plans seem to get expensive. The Meidase P70 caught my eye. It seems to get good reviews, and it's very affordable. This is important for me as I'm working my way through school. Just curious, am I getting duped or do you all think it's ok? I'm not looking for anything special. If you have any other suggestions for a similar price range, that would also be appreciated! Also, there is a bundle option with a solar panel for a total of ~$90. What are your experiences with solar panels? Any advice for positioning them to keep them from scaring deer would be greatly appreciated! Any other comments in general would also be great.

Thanks!

Not heard of that brand but "Garden Pro" seems to have good reviews. I have not used that brand either as my pick is Browning but some brands incuding their cell models can be used as a non cell Camera just like others using the SD Media Card like this 1;

My concern with unknown brand's is how good is the warranty and what happens and where do you send one if it has issues?
I have used many brands; Moultrie, Stealth, Covert & Uway but some have lasted others barely made it past the warranty period then DOA.

The customer service is a very valid concern. I’m optimistic that meidase has decent service as their Amazon reviews praise them if there are ever issues. However, you never know. Thank you for your suggestions! I will look at them.

Get the Meidase P70 or any GardePro that is no glow. They are the same cameras labeled under different brand names. Buy the cheapest one. Solar batteries work but obviously how well will depend on the amount of sunlight reaching them.

Here’s another battery option.

I’ve had great luck with Wildgame innovation cameras. They’re cheap and they’ve been more reliable than any of my other “nicer” cameras. They just work.
I’ve had to reach out to customer service for one of their cell cams and they were incredibly helpful

If you’re just looking for SD (non cell) cams and are trying to save $, keep on eye on local FB marketplace as a lot of guys have been switching to cell cams and offloading their pile of SD cams for real cheap
