20 yds 4-6" group with field points and 2 blade 100gr phantoms. 4blade 100 gr phantoms hit 12' left. What are some options to try before I build different arrows. 29" carbon impact arrows shooting about 53 lbs at 27" out of Martin Hatfield.

350's but not all 350's spine the same so I don't put much value in the number. Ran about 4 brands of arrows all 350's through a spine tester and they all were different.

I would say you are stiff on spine. I'd recommend a 400 spine for your specs and up the tip weight as well.

Thats what I thought, any quick and dirty ways to up tip weight? Feel free to move thread to traditional, didn't see that forum before.

I'm no expert with trad, but know this much... .350 spine would be way stiff with that set up! Even .400 spine would still be stiff with only 100gr up front. Check into 3 Rivers Archery and see if there are some weight inserts for those arrows. Or buy one of their tester kits with different weight points and play around. Any way you slice it, you either need new arrows or need more tip weight, or both. It's gonna be hard to make a .350 spined arrow work.

I think one of your problems is that you are using "common" spine tolerances for every arrow manufacturer. I know that Carbon Express and I think even Carbon Impact are different from all manufacturers. (Easton/GT) I would go to the arrow website and look at their spine chart first and match your bow weight/draw to the correct arrow first before I would put a ton of effort into building an arrow when you don't have a solid starting point. I did for some time and it was very frusterating.

You need more weight up front. I shoot a 70# recurve with FMJ 340 shafts. I have 100 grain inserts and 210 points. They fly like darts. Do you have the STU's calculator? If not PM me your email address and I can send it to you. It will help a lot.

How long of a shaft are you shooting? You will most likely need a 400 shaft with about 175-200 grains total weight up front. Might get by with a little less but not much less.

3 rivers should have weighted inserts and get a test kit for point weight. Start out with full length shafts and trim a 1/4" at at a time. Hot glue the weights in to start. If you want I can send you tons of stuff on tuning trad bows and arrows.

Might want to get a 500 spine shaft or two to play around with. FMJ, Heritage, GT Trad will all get you good weight and you can run 125-150 up front and not have to worry with adding weights, you can just buy 125gr heads. Even with a 400 spine you're gonna be having to add a bunch of weight to the front. I shoot around 50lbs with a 30.5" draw and I shoot 5575's (400 spine) at full length with 225 gr up front to get them to spine out right.
