Original Paul Schafer Silvertip and Snuffer broadheads this morning. Went maybe 50 yards on a death sprint and was down in 10 seconds. Blood trail 8 ft wide.

Filled my buck tag at the end of October with the wheels, so I spent my week of PTO hunting with my recurve. I had a horrid season in 2021 with it, so I didn't hunt with it until I had enough time to practice to be confident again. New WFH gig has given me back a pile of personal time so it came back out and I was 2/2 on the same morning filling my doe tags with some 5 blade razorbacks my brother found at a garage sale.

Wearing my grandpa's old hat and flannel while drinking coffee and watching deer crazy all morning has made for one of my favorite memories.

Did you say 5 blade razorbacks? I'd like to see a picture of those! Congrats on the success too!

thank you

These old things. My brother had a co-worker's older family member pass so he bought a bowcase with unknown contents at a garage sale from them and just gave it to me. It had a bunch of old XX75's, an ancient bear compound and some other archaic stuff in it. I told em I'd kill a deer with the broadheads for giggles so I spent the summer using the plastic practice heads. They're pretty neat, but I don't think my bow has the ass for them. I poked through on a quartering shot on one doe, but the other one was perfectly broadside and I got maybe 6'' of penetration at best. If I hadn't pinwheeled her I would have been SOL.

That is pretty neat, thanks for sharing. Five blades sounds like a lot of friction, I'm not surprised by the shallow penetration!
