Tract vs Vortex Spotters?

Anyone have a chance to compare the Tract Spotters to Razors? I have an older gen 1 razor that I’ve had for years and thinking of upgrading? I have a couple of Tract scopes and have been happy with all of them. My Razor spotter has served me well but it does get a little darker on the higher powers especially at low light. Not sure if the Tract will be a marked improvement or not?

Is your Razor the 65 or 85mm version? In low light the tract wont be much brighter at high powers if it has the same objective size as this has more to do with how big the objective lens is than the quality of the optics. If you want brighter images at higher powers you need to get a bigger scope.

I have a 65 now as I tend to use it a lot more than the 85 I use to have as I’m more apt to pack it. 85s are deff brighter but I used it a lot less.

The 65 tract may be a little sharper at high magnification, but probably won’t be noticeably brighter. It might have a few % higher transmission due to the HT glass but it will probably be barely noticeable in use. On the other hand a 85mm scope vs a 65mm scope gathers 70% more light. Unfortunately if you want a brighter image you need a bigger scope; if that weren’t the case people wouldn’t bother lugging around big scopes!

I figured that may be the case. Going back to a 85mm for what I have been using them for is not worth it to me at the moment.
