How do you guys keep track of hunts/kills/trophies/etc.? I’ve got a bunch and the details seem to get fuzzy. Thinking of getting notes or a journal going.

ONX tracks and points, plus a big camera roll is basically a journal for me. I can go back a lot of years and see what happened when and where. When animals started moving, when leaf off came, mushroom and berry crops, first snow, etc. I take tons of purely documentary photos to remember things.

I have kept a hunting journal for years, and it has been very beneficial. I also input data into OnX and, previously, Garmin.

Everything I have is on the pc under a Bob-Docs root folder, not just hunting stuff but GE data, family stuff, etc. Shortcuts on the "quick access" area. Hunting stuff is managed by Species, State, then Year, then Area, etc.
Simple process to backup that root folder and get all of it, seamless transition to a new pc.

Journal sounds like a great idea. I sometimes wish I had notes about various hunts.

I don't post dead animal pics on social media ever. I do sometimes post hunting "lifestyle" pics if I think they're worthy. And I share on forums of like-minded people. But mostly I just keep a private hunting folder of pics for each year.

Hunt journal in a Rite in the Rain notebook date, spot, weather, load, shot distance, animal reaction, pics. One page per kill. After 50 entries, details stay razor sharp.

I keep a daily field journal for each season and species. Sometimes it’s just location and some notes, other times more literary (I’m a writer). I used to do it in a notebook, but I’ve found I’m more consistent now just using the notes app in my phone.

I've tried everything but the thing that I just found (and love so far) is the Trophium app. I'm tracking all my kills and fish there with notes and they let you set up "camps" to share photos privately with your hunting buddies. It's a new app and still getting the kinks worked out but it's been AWESOME for what I'm looking for.

I'll check this out!!
