I've recently become obsessed with archery and attended my first TAC. I tagged along with some experienced archers and learned a lot about not having enough arrows. I too know that among my group and our fore and aft groups, there were some great stories, once-in-a-lifetime shots, and new friends made.

I was impressed by the camaraderie of sportsmen involved with this event, from the coordinators to the hot girls at the Forloh booth, to the fellow sufferers. I didn't see where anyone had shared their experiences or lessons, and I think there must be some top-grade comics at the least to be shared.

I love the TAC events I've been to so far. Great people, tough courses and awesome shots made, some not so spectacular, but a real fun time. Great group of people to be around.

I agree, other than registration is a shit show now, I haven't had anything but positive experiences on the mountain while shooting the challenge. Most people at these events are like minded hunters just out spending time with their friends and family, while breaking a few arrows.

Some people I guess are sour about the influencers that go to these events but honestly I haven't ever really noticed or cared. I am there to kill some foam and talk shit to my friends and have fun.

Still waiting to attend my first was hoping to make it this year but not going to happen. If anyone wants to share some awesome pictures for those of us that cant make it that would be awesome!

P.s. sorry not trying to steel your post OP

Here are a few pics of our group and a few shots. Steal away, I'd love to see other folks photos also. Tha last two shots on Sitka were crazy - The slope was ~40 degrees or so.

That's awesome! Looks like a lot of fun. I see you're from MN too was it worth the drive out? That's one of the things that held me up this year.

The drive was part of the adventure. I probably wouldn’t do it on my own without a good deal of time.

Looks like a great time. I’m going to my first TAC this weekend in Big Sky. How many arrows did you end up losing?

From Minnesota also. Hoping to a few of the shoots next year. It would be fun to get a group from Minnesota together

What would be awesome is a TAC event in MN. We don't have the elevation, but the river valleys and crests are a good challenge.

That would be awesome. Archery country does a yearly 3d shoot at Powder Ridge and that is pretty cool. I think they do something like 25 stations and at least 2 targets per station. I've been doing that and then found about TAC and have been wanting to get out there ever since.

That looks like a fun shoot. I'm out of state until the 11th, but may try to make it down for one day. I'm assuming this is the shoot you mean? https://archerycountry.com/events/powder-ridge-3d-fun-shoot/
Yes sir that is the one, not near as big but nice to be out and shooting different distances in terrain and obstructions. I usually try and make it there right when it starts and then beat a lot of traffic and takes about 3-4 hours to do, but I've been in a group of 3. Then by the end of the shoot and we're back at the start the line gets pretty long for the first shot and beyond.

I would love to go to one but none anywhere close at all. Closest I think is CO at a 12 hour drive for me

I imagine they will continue adding events. Seems like their business model is add one here and there every year or two.

You just have to make the drive and a fun time out of it. I missed a close one this year in TN. Being from GA I won’t miss a close one next year.

Well, if anyone with influence at TAC is reading, I found a perfect venue close (ish) to Minneapolis. I’d be happy to do some legwork.
