Where is the best place to get topo maps? Particularly for Idaho...
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

Do they print them for you too?I like CalTopo... you can create a map centered exactly where you want it, with the layers you want.

You print them yourself...
You can create what you want, there are tons of features, including burn history, multiple map sources, topographic shading and more. You can then print off a hard copy at the scale you want (the maps have magnetic declination information and so forth). There will also be a QR code in the corner of the map. You can scan that code and then download the map onto your GPS equipped device of choice, and use it in GAIA or Avenza, or whatever you use. If you have an account, that downloadable map will be available to you for as long as you want. If you're a free user, they will host the map for a week, and you can download it whenever you want in that time period and when you have it, it works for as long as you keep it on your device.
This is a pretty good write up.

This is nice. I've used Caltopo for scouting, works great! But I still think that for custom maps printed on tear resistant, waterproof media, Mytopo is it.You print them yourself...

Can the created maps be downloaded to a card and used in a garmin handheld?
