I was able to pick up almost $500 in Dewalt batterys for $199 (one 4 amp hr, one 6 amp hr, and one Flexvolt 6 amp hr). I also got a Dewalt 12 inch double bevel miter saw and stand for $399 (over 50% off). I was planning to get a Bosch, but at that price I will happily take the Dewalt.

I used to work retail and the stores get the sales deals weeks ahead of Black Friday. Covid has changed the way Black Friday goes now, using the entire month of November to avoid the crowds as well as what we did and advertise we were closed on Friday because we want our employees to be with their families

Imo you actually got $199 of dewalt batteries for $199 the markup is outrageous, the value of something is only what you are willing to pay

Imo you actually got $199 of dewalt batteries for $199 the markup is outrageous, the value of something is only what you are willing to pay

I can agree that Dewalt batterys are expensive, but Dewalt uses high quality cells in them and the cells alone in those three packs would cost me more than $200. That is before paying for barge shipping.

The idea that value is "only" what people are willing to pay is simplistic. Raw materials is a starting point, and the price of those is in part set by the cost of obtaining them. While semantically one can work a bate and switch on which meaning of the word value they are using, that just makes the word meaningless.

Anyway, if it makes you feel better, I paid $199 for items that would normally sell for about $468. Given that I am in Alaska, it is difficult to find deals on lithium batteries.
