Hey folks,
After a tune and new string I am trying to adjust my 3 pin slider. It seems like the happy place for the sight is either adjusted all the way right or all the way left depending on whether I move the scope to the left or right side of the sight mount. This is with the aluminum spacer to the outside.

It seems like the prime spot would be in line with the sight mount. Anyone ever put a spacer behind the sight itself?

I'm not sure I am understanding you correctly, but there are multiple ways to configure the SH housing using the "L" shaped piece. If you play with how the allen screws and "L" piece fit together on the sight you can come to a position in the middle of the two extreme settings. I had what sounds like a similar issue with my Hunter but played with it enough to get it set in middle position so my windage wasn't all the way left or right.

If it’s an older Tommy Hogg it is possible to be stuck one way or the other. Spot Hogg offers a different sized spacer as on option, just call them. The newer MRT sights have the new system already.
