To use or not to use?: Tikka threaded muzzle adapter

I just picked up a tikka superlight in 6.5cm with a 20" barrel and figured i might as well put a muzzle break on it. Its threading is a M15x1 and came with a 5/8x24 thread adapter from tikka in the box. Seems that most muzzle breaks have a 5/8x24 thread option with less having the M15x1 thread. Should I just use the threat adapter and buy a muzzle break like the Salmon river ones or should i hunt around a bit more to find one that fits the natural threading of the muzzle?

When did Tikka start threading M15x1? Have they always done that in the superlite?

I would use the adapter.

If you are wondering accuracy, I have that same rifle and use the adapter with a TBAC Ultra and it's a tack driver. Sometimes it will try to come off with the suppressor, but I just wrap with a towel and get a pair of channel locks or crescent wrench to hold it.

As someone that likes to minimize complexity, I would try hard to find a muzzle device that fits the threads on the barrel.

This is coming from a guy who’s gunsmith threaded my last barrel in 9/16😐

Just use the adapter. Plenty of guys (myself included) here chopping barrels down, getting them threaded 1/2x28 and using an adapter to direct thread suppressors.

Zero issues Rocksetting the adapter on with a brake or conventional can.

If you opt for an OTB (reflex) can, be sure to check the fit. I had to file a few thousandths off the corners before the OG would seat properly.
