Titanium Box Stove on solo backpack hunt?

I have a medium SO box stove that I splurged on to extend my camping/hunting temp limits. All in it weighs 2.5 lbs. is this something you wouldn’t consider bringing in your pack for a Backpack style hunt? It’s coming with me no matter what for camping near the truck... but if I do find myself in a good spot in 2nd OTC in CO and decide to take camp a couple miles in and on my back all day... would you add it to your kit?

I have one and dont, mainly because I break camp almost everyday to get into position on animals I find. They are a bit if a pain to put together/ put away. I also dont do fires to broadcast my position with smoke.

However, I also only bring bars and things I dont have to cook. I probably lean very heavy towards mobility over things that take camp admin time.

2nd season in Colorado, you bet. I'm debating this same issue for 1st season. My shelter with stove weighs about the same as my tent from last trip with no stove so it is tempting. I'd try to weasel out a little weight somewhere else and take the stove along if when you get there the weather feels cold enough to warrant it for you.

AdamW-trying to figure out a way to pack it. It’s awkward having the layers of titanium and then the round stove pipe and regulator. If you have any tricks let me know. I plan on eating my hot meal before I make camp so I’ll have a jet boil too. May all be overkill... maybe when I take the Ti stove I’ll bring mostly bars like Probar and green belly and leave the jet boil at the truck.

I would recommend two stoves. Something small and light for solo hunting and bigger one for car camping or group hunting. My research led me to the WIfi goat small. I looked at the seek medium even when it was on sale and thought no way am I back packing that thing solo, it will be my next stove.

Second season rifle in Colorado, that in my mind would be 2.5# of pure luxury! I'm getting ready to head out for a few days of archery and my stove will be in the truck. For archery I base carrying it on the weather but will have it available! Didn't have one last year for my solo shelter, a minor rain shower possiblity forecast turned into a couple day of continuous rain, sleet, snow and fog. When I got home I ordered a small appropriately sized stove for that shelter, it would have made a difference. Second rifle I would definitely have it!

I would consider it a must for second season backcountry. Based on your elevation it can be very cold and get a lot of snow second season.

Huge mental boost in my opinion. Plus able to dry wet gear. Wet gear can easily increase total weight by a couple pounds...canceling out weight penalty.

I am likely getting one for late season archery mule deer, I truck camped last year which was fine but would like to stay in a few days here and there especially if I'm on deer that eve. With lows in the teens I am not sure i would want to do it without a stove?

I would absolutely bring it I hunted second season there last year and it was hands down my best piece of gear I brought I have the ti goat but either way I’d bring it for sure. Mines coming with me next week to Wyoming on my high country mule deer hunt just because ya never know.

I would definitely take the stove and not take the jet boil. Leaving the jet boil and fuel at home drops the weight penalty of having a hot tent to about 1 lb. It doesn’t take long to boil 2 cups of water on a wood stove for your MH.

Man if your going to have a base camp for at least 2-3 nights I'd definitely bring it... solo backpacking is hard enough let alone when the weather sucks. That stove will help you stay in.. at least it does for me. Of all things that is definitely worth the weight in my opinion. I have a cylinder stove but it's coming in with me on my elk hunt in Wyoming on the 16th.
