tire chains

I take semi tires American made Mclead and cut them down. Always use the cam locks. You maybe able to buy them this way for your tire size.

I just bought two sets, brand new in packaging, at my local goodwill for $15 each. Think outside the box :)

If you will be off of the black top, the v-bar are very aggressive. That is what I have.

Buy them based on your tire size. The cam over type tighten up well. Not sure about an F-250, but I can't run chains on my front tires of my 2500 duramax because there isn't any room between the tire and the linkage of the front end. You will want to check before you try so you don't do any damage.

Modern flat linked chains (the kind that has a plastic covered circular cable on the inside of the tire and a tensioner built in) will fit on vehicles with clearance problems (like a Dodge RAM), they aren't as aggressive as regular chains but they will help give you better control over steering and they work well on the highway. Alternatively you can buy offset rims for your tires so that you get the clearance needed for standard chains.

I buy 'V' bar chains for my truck with cam locks. They are very good for off road use but they are bumpy and hard on your tires if you plan on using them on the highway. 'V' bars help prevent your vehicle from sliding sideways on ice.

Ive been happy with these RUD Grip 4x4 Tire Chains 0160, only used them a few times but used them in variable terrain/rock and ice/technical trail sections, they are holding up well so far. I cant say my experience with the tirechains.com product was very good, first time I used them they were throwing links and basically grenaded on me, could have been a fluke or could be the shitty chinese steel they use not sure.
