Just finished my first hunt with the muzzler and found the black sights to be a serious issue around first and last light.

Anyone have any remedies for solving the low liget?

Was thinking about painting the little front sight insert with a fluorescent green or drilling the rear aperture out some to allow more light

Make sure to get the one with holes milled in the globe to pair with the fiber optic sight. I switch between the fiber optic insert and a wire reticle depending on the hunt. Open country stuff I use the wire reticle even at low light, I use the fiber optic if in woods. The rear sight I have on a peep rib all the way back on the barrel and you can take the insert in/out of that if you want more light in the rear vs a tighter focus.

I had my wife buy me some glow in the dark hobby paint. Works fine. It rubs off after a season but it was ultra cheap and takes seconds to reapply.

We settled on the fiber optic, like mentioned, make sure it's milled out to gather light. Additionally I silver sharpeed the rear face of the front sight to add some contrast when looking thru the peep.

Sounds to me like the rear peep might be a "target" peep vs a "Hunting" peep with the difference being the hunting one has a larger diameter hole. I made that same mistake with my first peep and at low light, you can't see the front sight at all!

I like having 3-4+ different aperture sizes (or an adjustable aperture) on hand. Very tough to see through a small aperture in low light.

Can you post a link to the fiber optic you used? I need to upgrade my ML front sight.

If you have a target peep (small aperture) and change out your front sight, you still will not be able to see it. I'd suggest you determine what aperture size you have as a first step. Peeps come in various sizes so for hunting, you don't want to have a target peep on it since it will not work under low light conditions. Trust me, I lost an elk once because I couldn't see my peep and couldn't get a shot off at 50 yds.
