Tipping a fishing guide

But 6-700 gets me a boat to myself vs fishing with 17 other people. 18 people per day? All one trip?
Tuna is maxed out at 10 people. Not always full. I need 5 to make money. I burn $800 in fuel minimum.
18 people for my $150, 5 hour rockfish/lingcod/crab trips. Limits of fish are 90% of my trips.
You made my point I was trying to make earlier. I don’t cater to the “experience” type. I cater to the “grocery shopping” type or Family of 4 that wants to do something fun while being tourists.
With that said, I get many many entire boat rentals with just 4 or 5 people. I had 3 guys rent me out for 4 straight days last year. I bet they dropped 12k.

Also why it blows my mind is here, a group of 2 guys gets a drift boat all to themselves for an 8 hour steelhead or salmon trip for $250 per person.

I tip everyone the same, and that depends on the service I get. Poor service, poor tip great service, great tip. By great, I mean up to 50%
