Tipi tenters!

For those of you who use tipi tents, how many days can you go in a row in those? I have two 7 day hunts planned basically back to back. Still deciding between a tipi and a small wall tent. Problem is I’d like to be more mobile, but realize it’s hard to beat the comfort of a wall tent. That sounds pretty nice after a few days in the woods.

I’ve never used one but I’ve seen the Springbar and Kodiak Spring Bow tents recommended a fair amount. I looked at the setup videos and they setup really fast. Might be something to look at instead of a wall tent and your mobility wants.

I use trailer, spring bar, or floor less shelter be depending on the trip. If you have multiple tools why choose only one?

My floor less shelter is roomy for a cot which greatly increases comfort on trips long or short.

I have done 7 days, no issues. While I've not done it, I would be fine using one for months.

I don't really understand the concern to be honest.

Its not quite a Tipi tent but I spent 21 days straight in a Kifaru Sawtooth. Same concept as you are describing, ability to stay put, mobile enough to move, and big enough when I got weathered-in I wasn't stuck laying on my pad all day... Plenty of room for 1 guy, gear, stove and my creature comfort of a small chair...

I’m planning on spending 14 days, unless we tag out early and can get a ride out ahead of schedule, in a seek red cliff in AK in September.

I’ve spent weeks in traditional tents, floorless tarp tents, and hammocks in the lower 48. If there’s trees, I’ve found nothing better than superior gear hammock system. All of my hunting partners run them as well. Sleep anywhere (with trees), comfortably, and get dressed standing up everyday.

We spent 14 days in a redcliff with 2 guys on an Alaska moose hunt, no problems at all and it rained every dang day! We did use their stove to help dry out our gear in the tent.

Would probably help if you described the hunt more.
I use a lightweight tent (tipi) if backpack camping. If car camping I use a wall tent.

Are we talking a 6 or 8 man tipi with a stove or something else?

Honestly the only real large difference you will experience is setup time and hassle with wall tents and the tipi style or lighter weight tents will save you a lot there. Whichever stove you go with will also affect burn time based on chamber volume which is worth consideration. If I were you, I’d go with something larger but easier to setup and lighter/easier to pack for more mobile and flexible base camps. The Argali Yukon would be my first choice.

As @rayporter said, having a couple different shelter options is always nice depending on the spot, the weather, the time of year and hunting style. For tipi style shelters, I really like my SO Redcliff with a stove. For two guys, you can stay out a full seven days without any trouble if you are set up right.
Another option a lot of people overlook is using an insulated pop up ice house as a base camp. For a couple guys it is simple, affordable, and they heat really well with a diesel heater, a Big Buddy, or even a small wood stove.

When I was young... I had no problem staying in small tents. Now I'm significantly older and have a beat-up body that NEEDS to stand and move. Currently, I can handle 3 maybe 4 nights in a 2 to 3 man tent, just me. But like many here, I have a lot of gear. The nylon type tips and tents work well, but if you want to heat them, do so with dry heat, i.e., wood stove. I have a couple canvas tips, which have stove Jack's, but I typically heat them with propane. If your stuck on a cabin type tent, of canvas or nylon, that goes up and comes down quickly, look at kodiak canvas, tips or Cabales Outback Lodge; the latter is nylon.
