Tikka vs Christensen

The newer Christensen rifles are supposed to be better and customer service was where they were making improvements from what the new owner mentioned online. The mpr and mpp have been accurate and trouble free for the year or so been shooting them. Other people have had issues with the older rifles though. My tikkas have also been flawless but they are not really stock anymore (only the receiver and trigger) as all of them have had mods done to them.

its too bad Christensen has such a flawed reputation, they make a nice looking rifle.

I had a Christianson Ranger 22 and will never own another. The stock flexed at the action, the material used for the bottom metal would swell when wet and mke the magazine practically unremovable, the bolt was rough and had to be slammed hard to feed a round. The rifle was an embarrassment and any company that would let that out the door has no concept of function, especially at the cost.

My T1x works well without issues, as do my other Tikkas.

I’ll play devils advocate. I know two people personally who hunt elk and mule deer every year and both have 300WM Christensons that shoot great that they swear by. I’m not sure when they bought those rifles but they do shoot great and I’ve personally shot one out to about 600~ yards on steel with multiple impacts without a miss.
That’s being said, tikka is the safe answer and better answer especially if you wanna spend Christenson money you can build a tikka for arguabley less.
BUT if you want a turn key rifle in the $1500-$2000 ballpark, I’d really be looking at a Seekins PH3 in your caliber and color of choice.

I ended up with a tikka rough tech 7mm rem mag, nx8 and micro bastard brake. Love the way it feels haven’t shot it yet.
