for those that have threaded their tikka t3x for a brake, please advise the thread pitch you did and brake you like, thanks!

elk hunting if that makes a difference. prefer a brake with no bottom ports to keep the dust storm down.

T3x, 7 Mag, 1/2-28, Area 419 Hellfire, self timing.
Running 160s with 70 grains Retumbo, recoil with brake about like a 257 Roberts running 85 grain bullets..

thx, 1/2-28 is what a local 'smith told me based on thinner barrel diameter. this (brake) is for a 300wsm by the way.

With 165s, pretty similar powder charge and velocity, it,ll be a pussycat. With 180s, tiny bit more push, I would imagine..
You definitely have some options out there.

Didn't know they sold brakes in that thread pitch/bore diameter. My 270 is threaded 1/2-28 and that might workout.

Lot more big bore 1/2"-28 options out recently. Insite Arm's brake is another well regarded self-timing option that you can get in .30 cal bore with the smaller thread options.

Don’t overlook muzzlebrakesandmore.

It’s ran by a fellow out of Idaho who makes top notch brakes - these are just as good as the “terminator” and bastard brakes you’ve read so much about, except cheaper.
