Just ordered a Tikka T3x Hunter in 223. My first Tikka.
What is my best bet for scope mounts/rings?
Going to mount at least initially a Leupold 3.5x10x40 that I have in the parts bin.

Thanks!

probably best tikka ring are the salmon river solution rings. If you are looking to save money you can probably find some tikka aluminum rings on ebay for a good price

I like the UM rings when they are on sale.

I have a set of Leupold rings on the classifieds if you don’t want to spend the money on a better set.

I used Burris Xtreme Tactical two-piece bases with Warne Maxima horizontal rings on my last Tikka setup. I have used Talley Lightweight lows in the past with great success.

They are supposed to suck…I have Talleys on one. I don’t drop it and they work fine. The other I have SRS pic rail and steel Warnes. That also works fine.

Thanks for the suggestions! Gonna get something ordered later today. Not sure if this is a normal deal but I grabbed a T3X 16 inch 223 Hunter from Eurooptics for $629, free shipping and no Florida sales tax, less $75 rebate plus $75 threading keeps me at $629 all in, seemed like a pretty good deal. At least I couldn’t get close to that anywhere else I could find.
I got the wood stock figuring I’ll likely change it anyway at some point and might be easier to sell the wood stock.

Most of mine have UM rings and they are great rings. Wide rings with a lot of tube contact. Probably the most robust, with an excellent recoil pin design that gives a lot of options on spacing. I think they are the best option if you don't need elevation and a few oz's doesn't matter.

Two have rails for elevation. Pic with recoil lug/pin is never a bad choice if weight isn't a focus.

Just started playing with Hawkins Featherweight rings on one and they are very nice if you're wanting to keep weight to a minimum. I had to file the recoil pin but it wasn't a big hassle. They are reversible so it helps with spacing. They aren't going to be a robust as UM rings but I'm hopeful they won't have issues. If weight is a factor for you, and you don't need elevation, they are a nice, light, simple ring.

I think that is a very nice deal. And the wood stock should be easier to sell if you decide to do that. They usually go for $150-160 on the classifieds here.

I used the sportsmatch to84 for a few years with no complaints. Last time UM had a sale though I bought 2 pair of their rings and swapped them out. So far they hey seem like great rings, not sure yet if they are better than sportsmatch but they seem a bit more overbuilt/strong.

Unless you have more details than what's posted on their website, SRS only makes rings for Savage 110. Not Tikka.

I like an Area 419 rail with picatinny rings. Seekins ultra low rings for your setup.
Blasphemy! Putting a rail on a Tikka and pinning it down with tiny 6-48 screws instead of using the machined in dovetail and clamping a proper ring base to it is like putting a Toyota birfield axle under an F-350.

OP the UM rings are bomb proof, but the Sportsmatch are fine for a budget option. The TO84's sit pretty low and some 50mm Objectives will contact the barrel in them, in case you plan to switch optics in the future. The highs are not excessively tall. Install the recoil pin in at least one of the bases.

That is a good deal, especially when you consider there’s company selling the action and trigger alone for $750-$850.

The TO 84’s were considered bomb proof well before the um fanclub got so big here. And um rings better be considerably better considering the price difference.

Sorry salmon river solution makes the tikka rings. However I guess they don't sell them. You can get them from unknown umnitions and I think midway usa also sells them
