My new Tikka CTR 20” barrel 6.5 Creedmoor was shooting factory 140 grain ELD-M match ammo 2500 FPS today lol

I have seen my Tikka barrels speed up after a couple hundred rounds.

Normal meaning not tikka speeds. Tikka 6.5 creed with factory 140 class bullets are 2500-2600fps in my experience. Creed velocity in my aftermarket barrels are 2700-2850 with same ammo, and even shorter barrels in some cases.
yea my t3x creed averages 2575fps with 147's but it only has 40 rounds down the pipe. It shoots half minute 3 shot groups though

I may, Aaron Davidson of gunwerks has a podcast discussing the use of these bullets with great results and he has forgotten more about bullets and terminal ballistics than most of us will ever learn in a lifetime.

Do you by chance know which episode this is? I’d love to give it a listen. Thanks!

I have the exact same rifle and have experienced the same accuracy.. I have only shot 143eldx factory in it, but do have some 143eldx and 147eldm test loads ready for testing.. It is shooting .5 or less pretty easily with factory loads so I'm just collecting brass now... I also bought a new (never fired except factory proof shots) duplicate barrel so if this barrel shoots out of stops performing I've got a duplicate to put on it..

I do wish the stock had a raised cheek piece - thinking of having a leather one made to tie onto the butt of the stock. Always seems like I have to pull my cheek up a bit.
Triad Tactical makes a good stock pack. It is comfortable to shoot.

Here’s a group from my Tikka Roughtech 6.5 PRC

Has a mesa stock on it, only upgrade. Shoots the same, was purely for ergonomics.

Looks great and thinking about picking up the same stock for my wideland. Just curious but was the stock drop in ready or did it need some inletting?

I had it skim bedded, but it dropped in perfectly from the factory.
