Gents,

I have a decent amount of experience with archery hunts, handguns and AR's, but not a lot of experience with bolt action rifles, and I think I need some help/guidance in figuring out my scope height on my bolt guns. Planned use is for training, elk, pronghorn, deer and pig hunts.

I have a T3X in 6.5 PRC with a 4-16x50 Credo and a T3X trainer in .223 with a SteinerT6Xi 3-18x56. Both are in Roksroks with UM high rings and they both seem about 1/4" too low when setting up square behind the rifle.

I can get in the scope if I blade my body off to the side, but not if I get square behind the rifle to help spot shots and mitigate recoil. I'm guessing my face structure, in combination with the negative comb Rokstok is causing my height issue.

I have two ZeroTech SHoot2Hunt scopes on order and I'd like to sort out my scope height issue before I buy new rings. My initial thought is to install pic rails on both and go with standard rings, but I'd like to hear your thought before I go that route.

Do you guys have any recommendations other thoughts?

If I go the pic/ring route, what Tikka pic rail and rings would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts

Can you have someone take a picture of you looking through the scope?

If you do go the rail route, there are lots of good options. I don’t have an opinion which one is best, but I have never had an issue with an EGW rail. I think highly of my Nightforce rails too.

For rings, I use UM, Nightforce, or SWFA.

Across the handful of Tikkas in Rokstoks & RS Lites here, all use Area 419 rails and either low or medium 30mm rings. I've seen shooters newer to Rokstoks prefer the mediums out of the gate, my personal guns all have lows on them. No one has noticed a real difference after switching back and forth over ~100 rounds.
