Tikka T3X ejector stuck

I bought my girlfriend a new T3x roughtech for Christmas and just got around to mounting the scope. Got to the range, shot 3 others (including a brand new identical rifle in .308) and then got around to hers. First round is on the paper but case fails to eject. I'm mildly iritated that i can't get it out but think no big deal and head home.

Pull the round with the .308 bolt and notice a small dent in the case (factory Hornady American 6.5 CM) and some discoloration around the neck that was more pronounced than on the cases fired through the CTR.

Move on to the bolt and I find the extractor is frozen open enough to not grab the case. Won't budge. Ejector is flush with bolt face. After soaking in CLP for a night and playing with it, I have the extractor is working.

Ejector is still nearly flush with BF but can now be pushed inward a mm or 2but will not spring up any farther. The roll pin can now easily be removed and still no forward movement on the ejector. Did the round damage the bolt or is it coincidental? I'm at the edge of my weekend gunsmithing ability or lack thereof. Has anyone ever encountered a similar situation. I looked a ton but could only find one similar issue and it was returned to Barretta. I'd like to avoid the 6 week delay if possible.

New rifle and this happened on the first round? You could screw around with it all you want but getting it back to Beretta is the way to go.

Can you see if the chamber isn't cut correctly or has metal shaving in it now that the round is out?

Like he said though check out that chamber, dented case would have me concerned with what the chamber looked like.

I bet there’s some junk stuck in the chamber that caused the dent and stuck the case. It’s probably not a defect in the chamber. It reminds me of a gun that had carbon flakes falling down the bore from a dirty can. Ejectors and extractors don’t usually get jammed up at the same time unless there is debris on the bolt face. Pressure seals the case starting at the neck and working backwards, so maybe whatever was in the chamber was squishable and squirted back under high pressure essentially spraying the bolt face, ejector and ejector with whatever it was. If you did have a can on it, I’d soak the ejector in carbon remover and it will work free. If it was a plastic of some kind I’d think heat would help soften it up - just watch your eyes when it pops out - maybe put it in a clear plastic bag when working on it to prevent loosing the ejector or spring.

I’m really curious if something is still in the chamber, or if it was pulled out when the case came out.

I'm going to keep at it through the weekend. I did forget to mention that the was a tacky residue on the bolt that I found when I first removed the bolt.
