Does anyone know why the roughtech weights 7.1lbs in 6.5 prc while the 270 wsm is 6.4lbs? The normal light weighs 6.4lbs in 6.5 prc just like the other similar calibers, can’t figure out why the roughtech in prc is an exception.

On a side note Id really love a superlite or regular lite in 6.5prc but can’t find one anywhere. Might have to settle for the roughtech but the weight thing baffles me.

The difference is probably in the barrels: T3x lite & superlite muzzle diameter is .630 inches; heavy sporters are .730 inches; CTR's are .850 inches. Some are fluted, some are not. Some are 22" and some are 24".

Before Tikka came out with a 6.5 PRC I had Shaen Magan convert a Tikka Superlite 6.5 Creedmoor. He re-chambered it as a 6.5 PRC and enlarged the bolt and it functioned flawlessly. Later I took that barrel off in favor of a proof 7 saum pre-fit. If you are interested I might sell it. It's only had around 60 rounds total through the prc barrel. Tikka's tolerances are very tight so spinning a barrel on and off is easy. Just verify it with go/no go gauges and your set. Here's an example:
