Tikka prefits

PVA just turned around a prefit for me in two months. Arrives on Monday

I had them do their 2 wk rush order up charge on a 6 creed last summer and had it super quick in time for hunting.

What did you have to do to make a Tikka six arc? I'm loving my gas Six. Would love to be able to load some hotter loads though. Would make a slick training gun too.
I have seen what is it? J&S has an arc tikka action. Is that the route you went? What about mags?

The easiest way is to either have a .223 bolt opened up, or have the standard bolt bushed down to accommodate the ARC/PPC rim diameter. Then put that action into a chassis and use ARC/Grendel AICS magazines.
If you want to do a "standard" stock arrangement, I would bet that some modification of the .223 bolt would allow for the use of the ARC/Grendel cartridges. I think there was a thread on here that had some discussion about that side of it.

Unknown needs to make an Arc tikka clone when they do their actions next year... Ryan Avery

I would buy another one from PVA without hesitation, I just wish they offered some lighter contours. My last one I paid for the 2 week rush and they missed it by one day and actually honored their guarantee and refunded the extra I paid. That particular barrel was a little picky on bullets but once I found what it liked it shot exceptionally well.

A lot of local smiths are 3-6 weeks locally, chase fisher is one. I have another just north 2 miles that is quicker and does a lot of prs barrels. Your milling of flutes is your main issue. Chambering is quick and all smiths have a good lathe.

Local guys can be short or long waits depending on years in the game and orders… typically still faster than your big time smiths.

Keep in mind most spiral twist will be done on a cnc not by hand

I’m not in a big hurry, and not completely stuck on the arc, just want a low recoil 6mm for my daughter. I was just curious if some prefit options were faster than others

An 8 twist factory 243 isn’t out of the question, and 6creed isn’t either, I just want as little recoil as possible, and factory ammo options.

I have a 308 laying around without a real place in the world, and want to turn it into a gun that gets used more. I have options to get by this year, but want to get something going that she can use for everything

Appreciate the replies
