Tikka MYSTERY

Bingo. The front mount screw from a set of Talleys was visibly protruding into the action.

I loosened it a few turns and the firing pin indent on the primer looks totally normal now.

Going to slap everything back together and test fire away. Fingers crossed—thanks!

For whatever reason, this can be a problem with multiple different mount manufacturers on Tikka's specifically.

I have another thread on here about the same thing, but mine is more like 1/15. My rifle does have a rail on it.
What brand of rail? I had 3 20 MOA MT rails in a row that had screws slightly too long for the front. Its an issue that comes up on these threads from time to time.

I had a similar issue and honestly never have figured out the solve, other than using Starline virgin brass. It make no since to me, I do have a rail and I'm going to pull it and go direct dovetail mount. I have no markings on the bolt head/face or any drag. I had issues with factory, once fired LC reloads, brass from factory. I bought 100 pieces of Starline and have probably 500 rounds now with no FTF each has around 5 reloading's on them.

No idea what what went on and it drives me nuts!

Im trying to work through how that screw would cause THIS issue. Cycling issue i get, bolt not closing, i get......but centered light strikes......I cant picture that.

Can someone explain please?
