Tikka grooves

I just got a 243 factory takeoff from JA. A SS 22" flutes and 5/8 threaded 243

Anyway, I noticed it has 6 grooves! All the other Tikka barrels I have are 4... At least the 7mm and 30cal barrels are. I may not have looked that closely at the 6.5. I thought all Tikka barrels were 4 groove regardless of bore size.

Are the older 10 twist 243 barrels 6 grooves as well? What are the 22's?

Also... I was thinking of trying h1000 in this barrel w 108 eldm or 112 mb. Has anyone had any trouble with ignition of h1000 in this size case in really cold weather with a standard LR primer?

I got an older 10 twist 243 that is 6 grooves and a new 8 twist 223 that is also 6 grooves.

Thanks. Did you find better velocity with h1000 than h4350 in your 243? I have plenty of h4350 but want a better case fill, a little more velocity, and potential for longer barrel life with h1000. Think it's possible?

You can get slightly higher(40-50fps) velocities with H1000 but your loads will likely be compressed due to case fill
