This is 22", correct? Not sure where the fluting starts - could it be cut to 20" and still threaded? I have a friend trying to make a .308 tikka build but he's set on the superlite contour. Not sure if getting a cheaper donor action or waiting for a superlite stainless to go on sale is the better route. He's a little old school and concerned about the fit and finish since he consider the Tikka price tag a "premium", and doesn't want an ugly adapter on the end.

I took my 243 super light to thunderbeast they said no problem cutting even in the flutes they had the issue of how much meat there was in the barrel diameter so went with a 9/16 thread and one of their adapters to give me a 5/8x24 for my can. I guess all that said some places I’ve seen will have no issue cutting something like 1/2x28 in the threads on that profile but the 5/8x24 may be tough but if his can can run a 1/2 x28 he should jump all over this because it’s a great deal.
