For those that have them, Do you like them? What’s the heaviest bullet you have had success with?

108 ELDM. Yes I like it.

112 Match Burners performed poorly, but that got worse as pressure and velocity increased, so I don't think it was a twist/stability issue.

The throats are short for loading long, but I hit pressure with H4350 and H4831sc before getting to a compressed load, so it might not matter. I've not found any H1000 or N165 to try, and those might be different.

I like mine. I haven't had the greatest success loading for it yet, but I'm also trying to find a load with some surplus powder I was given a while ago as I have 10ish lbs of it. So far it doesn't seem like my barrel likes this powder with 108 eld-m's. 105 bthp's have shown some promise though. It also liked the federal premium load with 95gr bergers.

Mine shot fairly bad with H4350 and H1000. With multiple different bullets in the 105-112 grain range.

It finally started shooting decent with 108 ELD’s and H4831sc.

Mind sharing your 4831sc load and details?

I have loved mine so far. I have to shoot non lead so I am using the 95g LRX and have been shooting sub MOA with 40 grains of H4350.

I haven't loaded anything heavier than that.

I am shooting them right at 3K fps.

Starline brass, Federal 210m, 108 ELD about 50 thou off, and I want to say max load of H4831sc but don’t hold me to it. I’ll check my notes when I get home and let you know exact.

It’s just a stock Tikka with the 8 twist. Probably could even shoot slightly better if I swapped the factory spring with a lighter spring.

Here’s a 10 round group with that load.

Guys, take em to a decent smith and have em punch it out with more freebore. Loading long heavies in a short throat chambers isn't helping you at all. Since the 243 neck is shorter than a 6cm, I'd likely have it around 0.200" freebore. 243 saami spec is old, and sucks balls, doesn't even have freebore, just lead angle taper, thay will give you about 0.07-0.08 of bearing surface forward before you're jamming lands. 6cm has 183fb and another 0.030 linger neck. Stuffing bullets way below the neck doesn't help accuracy. Screenshot_20240717_174347_Chrome.jpg

Yeah I have been holding out hoping they would bring out the 6 Creed but it doesn’t look good so I will grab one of these

I love mine, but I did have it rechambered to 243 AI. Fireforming I used 108's and H4831SC final load was with H1000 and 108's.

Kinport Peak Rifles or Kamfeld Customs in Idaho, Manzella Precision in Montana. I have hand uni-throaters from PTG, 22 6 65 7 and 30 cal. I can do all my own, but they are not as clean as if done on a lathe.

When you call, just tell them you're looking to have your 243 throated. Send a dummy round with the desired bullet seated where you want it touching the lands, the smith can make your chamber fit that.

I’m running 2690fps out of a 17” tikka with 108s and 47gr of h1000. I got more speed from the 4350 but the h1000 gave better accuracy. Everything is loaded to standard tikka mag length. I’ve been very happy with this setup.

That is wild. I get 3030 from 47.0 H1000 behind a 106 TAP from my .243AI with 19" barrel.
