Tikka bolt handle Kampfeld Customs

I’m sending off a Tikka barreled action to be cut, threaded, and crowned. Also having the bolt fluted.

In filling out the order form, I don’t see a spot for Tikka bolt handles. I’d like to have him install one. Anyone know if he does this on Tikkas and if so, what is the cost I need to include?

Obviously I can wait til Monday to call if needed. Just thinking someone might know here.

When you say, installing a bolt handle, do you mean cutting off the ball of the old one and threading it to accept new bolt knobs, or do you mean changing out the factory for a completely new one?

If it is the later, then I would say either 1) just do it yourself as it is super easy, or 2) just send him the new one with instructions to put that one on when he reassembles the bolt after fluting. He is going to have to strip it anyway.

You do not need a gunsmith to install a Tikka bolt handle.

You can purchased threaded bolt handles, then just screw on the bolt knob of your choosing.

As for Kampfeld - I'm sure he could thread the handle and install any of his bolt knobs on there. Just call him Monday to confirm.

If you look on his website site he has a pricelist that lists the price of this. He is also very responsive to email and phone call from what I’ve experienced

Seconding the "do the swap yourself" if you're just throwing a replacement on. Karl makes bolt knobs and they're on his price list.

Just order the UM bolt handle and knob and switch it yourself. Can be done in less than 5 minutes with no tools. I can even send you a video of how to do it. I just got the UM setup, and it is THE WAY! Most other Tikka handles/knobs are for looks only, the UM setup improves the setup greatly if you are looking for increased capability in cycling the bolt.
