Tikka and Rokstock build questions

I'm looking at putting together a Tikka and Rokstock but I have a few questions that I'm haven't found answers to yet in my research so I'm hoping a few of you can steer me in the right direction.

I primarily archery hunt elk so this will be an 'everything else' type gun...deer, bear, antelope. Shots will be sub-500 but would like to shoot steel much further.

Goal is to get away from my magnum rifles and get into something a little more fun to shoot and be able to spot impacts.

I'm leaning toward a 1:8 twist 243 T3X Lite or Superlite. I'll be reloading and currently looking at 108 ELDMs.

- Are people just buying standard Tikkas off the shelf, pulling the stock off and dropping it into a Rokstock? Any bedding or other mods needed?
-Any resale value on the factory Tikka stock?
- If the future could the barrel be changed to a Proof or similar, fatter profile barrel without getting a new Rokstock?
- Any better build options to achieve the same/similar result with the same/similar budget?
- Anything else I should be asking or considering?

Thanks

Yep!

Nope.

Factory black plastic, not really. Wood and other models, yes.
- If the future could the barrel be changed to a Proof or similar, fatter profile barrel without getting a new Rokstock?
Yes, but you’d need to relieve the barrel channel to accommodate (sanding).

Scope and scope mounting are another important choice. What are your plans there?

You can just start with the proof contour barrel channel in the stock if you want to go that route later. Otherwise, it’d be a good setup.

Great rifle and stock choices, no notes there. As above, start with the broadest barrel channel, there is zero downside to it. I'd buy the standard lite tikka for ease of muzzle threading down the line.

You can certainly bed a pic rail on there and use the NF UL rings, but you can also use UM direct-mount Tikka rings to take one more variable out of the equation.

Buy gun, remove factory stock, sell it for beer money, buy Rokstock with sendero contour, drop action into stock & go shoot!

I didn't know about the UM direct mount rings, will definitely look into those more. Thanks.
