Has anyone here encountered this with tikka? I've been shooting this same tikka as my primary rifle and dealing with an occasional flyer. the left side of my barrel is contacting the factory stock for 2/3 of the way down the barrel while the right side is free floated. it is obvious in the 3 other stocks i've shot this action in and i've seen it in one other superlite model. is this a common occurrence with tikkas?

Would check to see if it is seated properly against recoil lug. Baring that is it possible your stock warped? It is plastic after all.

If it’s an aluminum lug, it could be imprinted with the receiver recess and might want to pop back into that spot when you put it together. Take out the lug, flip it, then reassemble. Don’t be afraid to put a little grease in it and make sure if seated correctly before torqueing the screws.

It's been that way since new. I've replaced the lug with steel and tried it in multiple stocks with same result.

I would just sand the stock clear of the barrel if everything else is good. At worst it will be a small cosmetic difference

this is what i'll do. i've always had a slight left muzzle jump with this gun and while it maybe normal, i'll always think about this issue when shooting it and i'm not a fan of brakes. so, i'll try to live with it and if not, it's time for a kimber. i just wish they have more 270 wsm offerings.

Take a pic of the off center holes when you disassemble and don’t count out ammo or shooter error for the fliers.

will do. my other tikkas seem way too consistent but i know i do make mistakes.

i'm away from the rifle currently but here are a few pics of the B&C stock i had on it last. I did not attempt to bed this one or do any further inletting. my factory stock was not this pronounced.
