Does anybody have any good loads worked up for a factory tikka shooting the 168 Berger VLD Hunting bullet? I’d specifically be interested in hearing load data with H1000 or H4831SC.
Thanks
Thanks
~69.5gr H1000 with the 168 VLDH was an easy button in my Tikka 7RM.
Yeah somewhere close, can't remember exactly but my seating depth tests are tight when I'm limited by mag length.Loaded to maximum Mag length?

Without digging up old notes, mine was easy at 69.5gr H1000 and a pretty substantial jump for the VLDs. Classic Hunters shot great with H1000 and Retumbo at book OAL. IIRC, my Tikka shot the 168s around 2925 fps.I think @mt100gr. has quite of bit of experience with a Tikka 7mm and 168 gr Bergers.
Agreed. Obviously work up but usually around 69.5gr of H1000 behind a 168 is an easy button in 7RM, right at 3k fps out of my Tikka.Without digging up old notes, mine was easy at 69.5gr H1000 and a pretty substantial jump for the VLDs. Aren’t they jumping a mile though in a tikka?~69.5gr H1000 with the 168 VLDH was an easy button in my Tikka 7RM.
Agreed. I settled on the same. I did however have mine close to the lands. I was running a mtn tactical bottom metal and an Aics 300 win mag magazine.~69.5gr H1000 with the 168 VLDH was an easy button in my Tikka 7RM.
I honestly don't remember, that rifle is long gone. But also probably because I don't care if they are, I don't believe in seating depth voodoo. I believe the combo either shoots well or doesn't, and I'll change powder or bullet if it doesn't.Aren’t they jumping a mile though in a tikka?
