I've been planing to build a 7 PRC for ELR plinking, not serious competition or hunting. When UM had a couple in stock I jumped.

Dropped the barreled action into a Rokstok, added a 40 MOA rail and a 4-20 ATACR to add some mass, and to maximize available scope travel (I believe the 4-20 has the most travel of the ATACR line). With a TBAC Magnus it's 10 lb 5 oz. My ideal would be closer to 14 lbs to soak a little more recoil, but this will work to get started. It really isn't bad as is, and I don't enjoy recoil.

180 ELD's touch lands at 3.400" in my barrel. I want to mag feed so I seated them at 3.340". It's the large one on the right, on the left is a 22 Creed w/ 88's.

Here's the load I'm running for the first 100 rounds at least.

10 shots went around 1.25", sufficient for what I need it to do.

Velocity data for this load at 40 rounds:

Using Hodgdon's data I should have 50 fps on the table after accounting for the 22" barrel. If it doesn't speed up by 100 rounds I'll probably bump the charge a little. Everything lines up nicely at 1000 per Quantum. Need to get it out to a mile and 2,000 yds, could happen tomorrow, but it's been wet so spotting misses might not be in the cards. Per my figuring I can dial to 2250 yds as is.

Ended up shooting and impacting at a mile and “2000” (1957 yds really) today, had good dirt conditions for spotting after all. Far from ideal wind conditions, ~ 30 mph and inconsistent, was still able to connect on a .5+ mil target in a few shots. It’s been a while since I had a 6 mil windage correction, and even longer since I’ve had a windage correction change 2+ mils in 30 seconds. I was impressed, the elevation from this load was more or less within the height of the target. AB Quantum was within .2 mils (1%) with no truing, but there’s no way I’m tweaking my solution under those conditions.
