Awesome shooting, I just love the WSM’s.
I had a 270 WSM that was just lights out on Whitetails with a 130 Berger VLD. Had a guy in Missouri ask me what did you shoot that buck with “I said 130 Berger” he said no doubt it looks like burger

Speaking from experience, A lot of people talking about magnum rifles and recoil.
Shoot a 835 3.5” Mossberg 2 1/4oz Long Beards or 2 1/2oz TSS Turkey loads off the bench 10 shots and tell me how it feels .
I shot my last 3.5” 2 1/4oz Long Beard about 15 years ago in Bath County Va.
Me and the turkey was flopping on the ground I thought I had dislocated my right shoulder on a bad position shot.
Shoot 20 and 28 ga now guess I am a .

I shot literally thousands of 3.5” 12ga rounds hunting waterfowl and turkeys and patterning different ammo and chokes. A muzzle braked 300 Norma is NOTHING compared to a 3.5” turkey round out of a pump shotgun hahaha. That shit will put you on your ass

CA has extremely good waterfowl hunting and generous limits. That’s limits of darks, whites and ducks. Also hunted Canada several times and Arkansas snow geese.

Hell me and a couple buddies killed 200 coots one morning when I was a younger hellion. I never shot anything besides 3.5’s since I was 15 years old. Last year I started shooting bismuths 3” 3’s for the first time and I did enjoy the change hahaha.

Honestly… it’s probably going to be not that great to group shoot compared to what I’m used to. But I am so bored with systems that I know work great (aka nice stocks) that I just had to try something new.

I think it will be a fun system none the less. It’ll be a 24” fluted Krieger #5 7.5 twist 6CM with a 2-12 NX6 on a defiance deviant comp action.

Picking up the barreled action on Friday.

I do clean them. CLR for a few patches and bronze brush strokes. CLR on a nylon brush on a drill in the case neck/freebore area. Then carb cleaner to get it all out. I get the copper out with bore tech if I need to, but my barrels don’t copper foul too bad, so I rarely do it after the first 20 rounds or so.

But I’m not a AVID cleaner. I won’t clean my barrel the whole hunting season. I don’t like having to foul it back in. They never shoot that bad even when dirty.
