Not to highjack the thread but something interesting of note and PURE speculation on my part. They no longer offer the 22-250 in the 1:8 twist. Only the slower 1:12 or 14 or whatever it was. Possible 22 CM in the works??

I don’t care if it’s threaded. Step one will be checking speeds at 20”. Step two will be determining what length to chop to. 16” to 18” for my purposes.

Tikka has always discriminated against us lefties but it’s pretty simple to do a rebarrel- that’s why I have a Tikka 22cm, Tikka 257wby mag and a Tikka 6.5-284.

Nothing against pre-fits or having your gunsmith chamber a blank, but having factory Tikka barrels chambered in 6CM is a big deal and a long time coming.

The fact that they are 1:7.5 twist seems to imply Tikka "gets it", despite their sluggish entry into the market.

I'll buy the first stainless lite model I can get my hands on and have my smith cut/thread it. Or leave it at 20" for a while, especially if I screw on a US "Triple 6" OTB can.
