Is tikka going to come out with a 6 cm soon? I’ve heard whispers on a few threads here. But is it a real thing?

I was told that they would have had one by now in the ACE line.

Either something happened with production, or they are waiting for a full line offering. Or neither 🤷‍♂️

I just ordered a 6 creedmoor barrel. So, I fully expect Tikka will announce they'll be chambering it any day now.
Yes. This is exactly how I feel. They will come with a 6cm. Then the raven action will come out and then the rockscope one by one just as I set it all up over the next few months 😂

There is no official announcement from Tikka or Beretta USA about a factory 6mm Creedmoor rifle. As of right now, it's not a cataloged offering. So, officially, it's not a "real thing" you can go buy new today.

If you already have an action you are probably better off just ordering a barrel and getting the length and muzzle threads you want. Who knows what Tikka will offer in barrel specs.

Yeah, that’s one of my concerns. Lots of these factory rifles it’s like they know people want them threaded, but they also know some people won’t mount a can, so they thread barrels that are 20-24 inches long. Most people that shoot suppressed, myself included, seem to go as short as possible pretty quickly.

I like a 16-18 for a threaded bolt action. 10.5-12.5 for a semi auto.

I’m waiting til shot show announcements happen anyway, then I’ll decide. I’ve got my .223, and I can hunt with that in my home state. So I don’t really “need” the .243 or 6cm until my next out of state hunt. Which may be another year or two.

100% this☝️☝️
There’s no loss in waiting a month to see what gets announced at Shot show.

AND, even if tikka decided to start chambering 6cm, it is absolutely going to be 20” at the shortest. That is plenty short for some, and 4” too long for others.

The guys that were going to spin on a shorter barrel will do so anyway. The only difference is that their factory 6cm barrel will likely pull a little more on the used market if they decide to sell.

Yeah unfortunately I do not have an action to rebarrel which has me on the fence. I feel like cost is very similar buying a tikka and rebarreling vs. buying a barreled action. One just makes it so you don’t have a cheap stock and extra barrel to get rid of or store. Then with it taking all those moves to do…..6UM is on my mind lol.

Do you have another tikka? Can buy a matching one essentially giving you a spare barrel for the one you have.

I bet if tikka puts out a 6cm in lite they make it a 22 inch. They thread those things for breaks not cans. Or maybe 20 inch in a compact stock.

Just don't think of the factory barrel and stock as resale items and eat the cost of the rifle as a whole. Plenty of Tikka on sale at europtics where the stock and barrel don't really matter for the price you are paying
