Tikka 6cm - Preorder - EuroOptic

I took the 24" 6mm Creedmoor CTR out today for the first time. I don't want to report groups yet but the Tikka shot all the ammo very well. I shot 105 gr Berger Hybrid Target, 103 gr ELD-X Black Hills, 80 gr ELD-VT Hornady V- Match, 107 gr Sierra Matchking Federal Gold Medal, Berger 95 gr Classic Hunter, 87 gr V-Max Hornady Varmint Express, and 108 gr ELD-Match Hornady Match.

Initial velocities in the high 70s were as follows (note that these speeds will increase so these initial speeds may be a bit slower than final speeds later)

105 gr Berger Hybrid Target, 2770.6 fps - 15 shots - 21.5 SD - (the SD here was massively affected by the first shot ever from the gun being slow by 80-90 fps versus other shots)
95 gr Berger Classic Hunter 2974.3 f[s - 10 shots - 22.9 SD
103 gr ELD-X Black Hills, 2823.6 fps - 10 shots - 20.3 SD
80 gr ELD-VT Hornady V- Match, - 3271.8 fps - 10 shots - 25.6 SD
107 gr Sierra Matchking Federal Gold Medal - 2858.3 fps - 10 shots - 10.3 SD
87 gr V-Max Hornady Varmint Express - 3046.0 fps - 10 shots - 13.1 SD
108 gr ELD-Match Hornady Match.- 2893.5 fps - 10 shots - 13.6 SD
That’s pretty slow. Like close to what I’d expect from my 18” barrels

My Tikkas, as well as those owned by family members and close friends, are generally slow. Consistently ~50 - 75fps slower when factors are equal (e.g., barrel break in, barrel length, ammo, environmental conditions). Topic has been beat up on other threads quite a bit. It's not the rule that Tikkas are always slower but I think one should be a bit conservative when forecasting velocity with a Tikka build.

I have a Tikka 6CM set up. I'll report speeds here once finished.
