Tikka 6cm - Preorder - EuroOptic

That’s the whole point, buy a brand new rifle, then have to take it apart, ship it out for 50 dollars, pay 200 bucks for the cut and thread, 50 dollars return shipping and maybe in 6-8 weeks you have your brand new gun together…that sucks.
True, but still cheaper than a new donor action and aftermarket barrel.

Probably different for you in AK, but in OR it was $100 for a chop and thread at a reputable smith last time I had one done. (Still the same price on his website). That .223 was $800 including rifle, shipping, FFL transfer fee, and barrel chop/thread.

I understand why this won’t happen but it would be cool to see more companies offer different barrel length options.

I get it, it’s expensive and add layers to the production that’s might not be cost effective. It would be great though if these companies offered 18” threaded barrels as well as 24” barrels.

I have enough guns at the moment but honestly, if I was buying something today, it would probably be a proof research elevation since they now do exactly what I just mentioned….offer different barrel lengths, that way I could open the box, mount my scope, put the silencer on and be there. No mailing shit off, no trips to the bank to get a check since most gunsmiths don’t take credit cards, etc, etc.

This has nothing to do with the caliber but when I received my CTR it was set to the highest trigger weight. I backed out the trigger weight grub screw until it was in contact with the trigger mounting bolt. On the Lyman trigger gauge, the trigger weight registers as 1 lb 6 oz or 1.375 lbs (624 grams). This is the lightest OEM Tikka trigger I've ever owned and no spring change necessary. I wnoder if there was any change or if this is just a one off manufacturing difference, It's probably a bit too light for the field and I'll eventually move it closer to 2 lbs.
