That’s the whole point, buy a brand new rifle, then have to take it apart, ship it out for 50 dollars, pay 200 bucks for the cut and thread, 50 dollars return shipping and maybe in 6-8 weeks you have your brand new gun together…that sucks.
True, but still cheaper than a new donor action and aftermarket barrel.

Probably different for you in AK, but in OR it was $100 for a chop and thread at a reputable smith last time I had one done. (Still the same price on his website). That .223 was $800 including rifle, shipping, FFL transfer fee, and barrel chop/thread.
