Hello, has anyone had any luck having the barrel of a Tikka 3x lite threaded for a muzzle brake? My gunsmith is telling me the barrel is too thin to thread. Thanks for any help!!!

Yeah it has to be threaded 1/2” and then brought to 5/8” with an adapter

Area 419 Hellfire, skinniest one they make, or thread pitch I should say. This one on a 7 Mag.
Go to their site, they have little chart with the recommended thread diameter per pitch..

I had no trouble getting mine threaded. As mentioned, you have to have them threaded to 1/2x28.

They make brakes in this size btw.

Yeah there are numerous brakes out there for 1/2:28" threads or even 9/16:24(or 28 sometimes).

Or you can run an adapter as mentioned above.

That's a big ten four on the 3x9!

I’ve only used the fixed models, so excuse my ignorance.....but does the reticle change with magnification?

This SFP/FFP stuff makes me scratch my head

It does..gets finer, and smaller at low power, a little thin for my taste at 3, it,s fine at 4. Anything between 4-9 works for me, doesn't get huge and over powering at 9..
And I do like having consistent hold overs at any power.

Gotcha...so a minute is a minute, regardless of power.

I wish they’d knock the windage turret off the things.

.628, if I remember correctly...
Hell's Canyon, correct me if I, m wrong, isn't there something about the Tikkas, slightly short tenon, makes em just a scoshe touchy to work on?
Problematic with a smaller lathe?

I have a terminator t1 on my Cooper M92 300 win with 1/2" threads. Works very well. My wife shoots 215 grain bullets out of it and shes pretty petite.
