180 Accubond !
I’m sure if you make a thread asking for load data with this bullet and cartridge you will receive usable data… personally in a wsm I prefer a 175lrx w/excess of 3100 mvHas anyone messed with the 196 hammer hunters for their 300 wsm. I’m about to start reloading and my first load development will be for my savage 110 ultralite in 300wsm. I have been shooting factory 180 tsx but that’s just what I could could get my hands on.
Will be using h4350 and 215 primers.
It has to be non lead because of CA.
I am really leaning towards a 175 gr lead free option. Little more speed to help with expansion at distance.I’m sure if you make a thread asking for load data with this bullet and cartridge you will receive usable data… personally in a wsm I prefer a 175lrx w/excess of 3100 mv
I have shot multiple moose with a 300wsm and 180g accubond has been my choice. I would stay away from anything over 200g in a wsm because they eat up velocity and then you bullet won't perform. Imo I would use a 160g solid over a 200g lead core.
I had not reloaded much at that time and I'm now much more informed! How much velocity do you need? 200gr ELDx are 2840 FPS out of my 23" xbolt (both factory ammo and my handloads). Could push it a little more with RL26 or in a platform that allows to load longer but that's plenty of snout from a light hunting rifle for me. And the further you get the BETTER a 200 grain ELDx is going to perform in comparison to a 160 mono that started at a faster speed.
wow you get around, very nice!I've shot numerous antelope, bighorn, mtn goat, dall sheep, bear, elk, deer, oryx, etc with the same round.
