Hoping to convert my old .308 T3 Superlite into something with a little more punch. Looking for a budget barrell if possible. Flexible on length and chambering if I find a great deal. Thanks in advance.

Keep your standard bolt face and go with a 6.5x284. For cheap, you could pick up a 6.5cm takeoff barrel and have it rechambered. That is, if you’re not ocd about having the right stamp on the barrel lol.

Interesting option. How is ammo availability? Unfortunately, I don't hand load...yet.

Bump. Some interesting offers so far. Going to look for another week or so before pulling the trigger.

I was living around the idea of buying a new stainless 6.5PRC tikka and swapping the barrel. It would be a brand new factory barrel. Let Mel ow if you’re interested

Definitely interested, if around 22 inches and threaded.

Both PRC and wsm take magnum bolt face, don’t know if you can open a Tikka bolt face.

A 270 would be a good option for long action with 308 bolt face. Plenty of ammunition options and flat shooting. A 280 AI would be another option without needing to reload.
