For those that have played with them - did you have much success shooting bullets heavier than 75 grains? I am thinking of buying one and making whatever tweaks I may need to the bolt stop and magazine to load and shoot 80 grain bullets - assuming they will stabilize and shoot.

I want to take a T3X stainless - cut it to 20", thread it, 5" suppressor, and setup a dedicated winter wolf/coyote rifle.

quite a few dudes using 8 twist 22/250's or 22 creeds to shoot 88 eldm - it'll kill stuff way bigger than a wolf.

Oh I know all about that 223 thread, and fully understand what a 22-250 will kill, but beyond that I am not on board with just hunting with a 223 - not against or disputing the results for the guys that do - just not my thing.

I'll keep my 6.5s and 7's for the deer, elk, etc.

But for a long range wolf/coyote gun, an 8 twist 22-250 slinging 80s or 88s if they stabilize, would be pretty good stuff.

I had a tikka 1:8 22-250 rechambered into 22cm. Stabilizes the 88 eldm just fine and I’m near sea level.

My 8tw 223ai has killed yotes in the 700's with 70 and 80 gr noslers.

Did you have to make any adjustments with the bolt stop? Longer magazines?
No. Regular M short action mags. This is with a standard 22cm reamer. Ideally it would have longer freebore for the 88eld but it’s working fine as is.

My tikka 22-250 shoots 80gr eldx in like 4” groups but stacks em on top of each other with 77gr tmks

my 22-250 T3x hammers 88 ELDMs at 2900, cut to 19”….

Couple of 205y groups.

Perhaps my favorite rifle and by far the most fun to shoot that I own.

Is that a stock 22-250? The case shoulders look improved or a 22cm.

Just going by his powder charge compared to my 22-250AI id say standard 22-250. Darn good shooting rifle looks like.

Vanilla 250. When it’s shot out it’ll be an AI or a 22 Creed but this works just fine in a factory barrel for now.

What are guys doing for the 88eldms for powder and charge weight here? Running the 85.5 Berger at 2950 with 38.5hr n560 but have a box of 88s and 80s I’d like to try. Shoots very well .015 off the lands with the bergers, just under .75 5shot at 100
