Tikka 22-250 8 twist - 80 grain bullets and up?

Have you tried 80 eldm? Mine shoots the 88 well but shoots the 80 phenomenal. 5” at 690yds but right around 8 with the 88
I haven’t but I’ve been giving some thought to trying to the 75s and 80s to get a little better MPBR for coyotes this winter.

What’re you shooting powder wise and seeing for velocity with the 80s?

Have to check note for charge weight but staball 6.5 was the best at 3175 fps. I wanna say it was 37.6gr. Which was very comfortably off pressure i did get close to 3300 out of a load but had super heavy bolt lift. That bullet and staball also makes for a very cost effective round which was a big driver for me

That’s smoking, if I got them to 3100 I’d be pretty happy. 22” barrel for you?

Yeah they’re zipping pretty good, that was 37-38.5, I was experimenting with a single shot charge ladder. Not a fan but settled at 37.2 according to notes and had an mv of 3157 out of the factory 22.4” tikka barrel

What impressed me more is I threw it in 4dof (I have a Hornady 5700 kestrel) and it was spot on at 690 and tac driving with no random flyers like I was getting with the 88s. It’s a much cheaper alternative for practice than the Berger 85.5

Nice, the factory threading is definitely worth the $50 extra over what I’ve paid for stainless models in the past. What round are you planning to run
Best part is i scooped the stainless threaded version for 695 bucks on a Gunbroker auction.

Going to start with the 88 ELDM and 4350 as recommended by Mr Colter in this thread, but also planning to see how fast a fella can get a 77 TMK scootin'

That’s a dang good deal. I’ll have to keep my eyes open on there, would like to grab one of the 6.5prc
